Private School Charity Campaign

Share the Love, to benefit local charities that serve Wilkes-Barre and the rest of NEPA.

Our students at Jenny Lynn Elementary truly know how to Share the Love within our school and community with their annual charity drive.

Each year our students choose charities that have a special meaning to them. Our classes vote for one charity to raise money for throughout the holiday season. The students raise money through monetary donations and various fundraising activities. All proceeds are divided equally amongst the student chosen organizations. The children then Share the Love by making the final donations during the winter holiday season. 

Giving back to the community and teaching our students empathy and compassion are two of our most important program goals. Student choice helps make the initiative relevant for our children. Supporting charities by assisting in raising funds teaches our students the value of team work and community solidarity. 

Student chosen charities have varied from supplying children with tennis equipment through Tennis Racquets for Kids to helping build book collections and support reading with First Books. The children were especially passionate with a unanimous vote to donate  to Conquer Chiari, a charity that held a special importance for one of our students and their family. 

We are so proud of our Jenny Lynn students and families who show their incredible compassion and generosity by supporting our annual Share the Love charity initiative!
