Jenny Lynn students celebrate the gift of reading throughout the month of March. Students participate in fun themed days to celebrate the whacky work of Dr. Seuss. The teachers plan a variety of exciting Seuss activities including a green eggs and ham brunch and creating truffla trees! Each March the PTO sponsors a reading shirt sale where all proceeds are split between the school PTO fund and a direct donation to the Hoyt Library in Kingston.
Students also participate in a month long reading rally competition in which students keep a reading log throughout the month to race to read as much as they can! Guest readers volunteer their time throughout March to share their favorite stories with the students. Individual prizes are awarded at the end of the competition and all students participate in a reading party celebration. The month long program focuses on developing a love for literacy and fostering life long readers!
